About HEAT
Hope, Environment, and ArT (HEAT) is a community-based initiative focused on using art, storytelling, music, and environmental projects to strengthen neighborhoods and encourage community participation.
HEAT promotes gardens, green spaces, local food access, and creative placemaking projects that celebrate the culture and history of communities. Through initiatives like Creating a Buzz, HEAT works with local partners to make environmental engagement more accessible, creative, and community-driven.
About the Creating a Buzz Initiative
Creating a Buzz connects music, culture, and environmental stewardship in new and creative ways. The initiative supports projects that celebrate the sounds, stories, and green spaces of neighborhoods while encouraging greater community involvement in pollinator-friendly environments.
Our events include:
Co-sponsoring the Plight of the Bumble Bee @ the Irish American Heritage Center
Co-sponsoring Las Suenas de una monarca @ the Field Museum
Future projects may include:
• Pollinator planting and garden activations
• Community music and storytelling events
• Interactive maps highlighting neighborhood green spaces
• Partnerships that support education, art, and environmental awareness
By connecting people through music and shared experiences, Creating a Buzz aims to inspire long-term support for healthier and more vibrant communities.
